Sunil Samtani
Senior Research Director, Wireless Systems and Networks

Sunil Samtani is a senior research director at Perspecta Labs, where he manages the wireless systems and networks research department. He is responsible for advanced technology development and new intellectual property creation within Perspecta Labs in the following areas: wireless communications and networking waveforms; mobility and performance optimization; RF-based signal processing techniques; and information assurance and cyber security solutions for mobile tactical applications, commercial wireless LTE and Internet of Things (IoT) deployments.

Prior to this role, Samtani served as a research manager at Telcordia, working closely with various business units to help realize the VoIP Soft Switch product. He also developed solutions for novel transport layer protocols such as SCTP and extended them for application to wireless networks. Previously, he served as the national systems product manager at SPRINT, where he was responsible for a data-warehousing and data-mining solution for SPRINT’s operations support systems.

Samtani holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Missouri in computer science and a Master of Business Administration degree in finance and general management from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He has authored five patents and published more than 60 publications across a wide variety of areas related to wireless technology.

Samtani was elected a Vencore Labs Fellow in 2014 for his many contributions to the success of the company and its customers and he continues to drive innovations in IoT, personal area networking and advanced wireless systems.
